Event Outline

The Hague Convention on Choice of Court Agreements, now part of Singapore law, aims to give effect to party autonomy in the choice of litigation fora. This lecture will address the scope and limits of this party autonomy. It will address the situations where party autonomy itself is being challenged, for example, through lack of consent or capacity. It will also consider how the the concept of party autonomy under the Convention relates to its counterpart under the common law.
