Singapore has dedicated a lot of time and effort to a public consultation to discuss the issue with a view to enacting laws to deal with false information. The matter was considered of such importance that a committee was formed by Parliament to look into the formation of this law. It is an opportune moment to look at the laws that are proposed or enacted globally and regionally and decipher the trend in the treatment of the problem with a view to predicting the Singapore approach.
