This seminar explores two case studies where arbitral tribunals have been faced with challenges associated with the approach, methodology and findings of party-appointed experts. In one situation the difficulties led to the tribunal appointing a tribunal appointed expert, in the second situation the arbitral tribunal explored alternative pathways in order to make its award.
