Lord Phillips wrote in the Hong Kong Law Journal that vicarious liability area was on the move. Vicarious liability is an important area of tort law that has been seeing development. The UK and Canadian Supreme Courts and the Singapore Court of Appeal have examined the area. This lecture will examine the routes to liability for fraudulent and negligent statements by others, and the extent to which such liability should be regarded as vicarious or explained in some other way.
