Event Outline

It is befitting the Biennial Celebration this year for the Law Society’s Biennial Lecture to focus on the development of land law in Singapore. After all, the treaty that was signed 200 years ago between Sultan Hussein of Johore, Temenggong Abdul Rahman and Sir Stamford Raffles was the first document in relation to land in modern Singapore. Since then, the developments of land laws in land scarce Singapore have been largely been to support and sustain Singapore’s economic and social growth.
