Event Outline

Since the WTO Doha Round impasse, Asia-Pacific trade and investment agreements have proliferated. New-generation agreements are a key strategy to expedite economic recovery. The UK, China, Taiwan, Ecuador and South Korea have applied or expressed intention to join the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership. The event provides insight into the accession process and potential implications of the expanded CPTPP for new Asian regionalism and global trade governance.
