Lord Hughes will speak on best practice on the Rule of Law and ethics, reviewing his experiences as advocate, trial judge and justice in the Supreme Court of the United Kingdom and Judicial Committee of the Privy Council. He will cover the interaction between advocates and the judiciary, the vital importance of the independence of the judiciary, and will touch on the role of judicial creativity and policy-making.
