This event commences with a presentation by Penny Martin, coauthor of “Selecting International Judges: Principle, Process, and Politics”, who will provide an overview of judicial selection procedures, with a focus on those of the ICJ and the ICC. It will be followed by a panel discussion on practical insights from the processes in different international courts and tribunals, and the interplay of political, pragmatic and strategic considerations that affect the actors’ choices.
