Event Outline

The International Arbitration Act (IAA), enacted in 1994, marked Singapore’s ambition to become an arbitration-friendly jurisdiction. The programme celebrating this milestone will have three parts: a retrospective on the key considerations for developing the IAA, an examination of its interpretation and amendments over the past 30 years and its influence, and a discussion on the future of the IAA and potential reforms to enhance Singapore's status as a leading arbitral seat worldwide.
