Event Outline

The UK Law Commission has focused on law and technology issues since 2018 and their work has resulted in the Property (Digital Assets etc) Bill 2024, which has gained influence in English courts and is likely to be considered by Singapore courts. However, academic commentators have critiqued the proposals for inconsistency with property law concepts. This seminar will critically evaluate the Commission's recommendations on the proprietary nature of cryptoassets and concept of “control”.
