The session will also consider the roles that lawyers, mental health professionals, prosecutors and the courts can play in addressing these challenges, as well as practical approaches that defence counsel can adopt when representing clients with invisible disabilities. The presentation will draw on Ms Elizabeth Kelley's experience in the United States while considering how these issues may arise in Singapore’s criminal justice context, including the implications of Singapore’s non-jury system.
